Personal Style:
Katie lives for fashion. She absolutely loves and adores clothes, and anything to do with making herself look and feel good. She never leaves her room without a little powder on her nose and some shmancy outfit she thought up herself. She doesn’t really care for the “in” style but more so what she feels looks good. Of course, the trend of the week influences her style but Katie will always find a way to make it her own, whether it be adding some color or a belt or two. People always think she has a lot more clothes than she really does but it’s because she mixes and matches. One thing she loves to do is a method called layering; layering of shirts, different colors, etc. In essence, fashion is one of the many ways she expresses her individuality, especially with having a twin and all.
Katie is less talented with her hair than her outfit designing, although that does not mean she is bad. After all, 90% of one’s appearance is their hair. Generally, it will be kept down in curls. Katie also loves to dye and highlight her hair from a range of colors of dirty blonde to a dark brunette. She is naturally a blonde. On days that she is lazy, she will tie her hair up in a messy bun or a ponytail. Either way, she puts effort into her hair and it generally (99.9% of the time) shows.
Katie always goes for a natural look when it comes to make up. She believes the use of make up is to use as little as possible and not cake it on like some of her peers. It’s rather disgusting in her opinion. Especially, being so young, she has no reason to want to look older than her age. Old people have reason to cake on the make-up but not a youth like herself. But of course, the ‘natural look’ does not mean she makes herself out as pale. She knows where to highlight and add just a hint of color to compliment her skin tones.

Biggest Secret: She and her twin brother are telepathic and
can communicate between each other without having to say an actual word.
Personality:
Katie is a nice girl. She’s outgoing, therefore has no issue reaching out and making friends. Katie is the type of girl who doesn’t mind making friends with the outcast but also will not exclude making friends with the ‘popular’ kids. She believes the more friends, the merrier. Her kindness makes it easy for her to make friends and for people to be attracted to her, although this has also made her some enemies. She has also been accused of being fake, which is completely untrue. Everything she does, whether it be something nice and something not so nice, it is from the heart.
Katie is a very emotional girl. She wears her emotions on her shoulders and has no problem displaying them openly. If she’s frustrated, everyone will know. It’s one of her weaknesses, something she can’t seem to control, ever since she was a little child. It’s times like these, when she’s throwing tantrums, that make her seems rather immature. But the reverse effect can also happen when she openly expresses herself. She is a loyal friend and will stick by them no matter what. When meeting a new person, she will have the up most respect for them, and from there decide whether they actually deserve her respect or not.
Furthermore, on her mature side, she is very responsible and will get whatever needs to be done, done. People can count on her. She likes to keep busy. There’s hardly a moment where Katie is found doing nothing. She loves to be organized. One of her favorite things to do is making lists.
Katie is also very confident, to the point that sometimes it comes off as cocky and snooty. She speaks her mind and will not care who is around. It sometimes gets her into trouble because she never thinks before she speaks. And hardly does she think before she acts. She’s very upfront and blunt about things. Sometimes she doesn’t even realize she is being rude. The things she says may sometimes make her seem a bit slow and ignorant. But she does have the best interest at heart for everyone.

History:
The history of the Williams twins started before they were even conceived. Julia Williams, their mother, was a Nuclear Technician who worked at the Diablo Canyon Nuclear Power Plant. During a routine refueling outage, it was Julia’s job to go into the primary steam generator, one of the most radioactive parts of the plant, to check that the installation of a metal cap on a drained pipe was done properly. While each person is only allowed to be in for a maximum of four minutes because of radiation exposure, an occurrence of radiation leakage caused an evacuation of the plant, and Julia was not able to get out for fifteen minutes.
While the exposure landed her in the hospital for three months, it was not until a couple years down the road that the true repercussions of the disaster would truly show up. The level of radioactive poisoning had effect on her reproduction because of genetic mutation. At first, the birth of Katlyn and Kenton would have seemed all together normal. But the mutations to their genetic code endowed them with unusual powers, which could not be controlled in their infancy. While Katlyn, capable of density control, was of no threat, the individual power of Kenton was fatally dire. Kent’s ability to cause nuclear reactions to extract usable energy out of atoms through touch caused the progress of his birth to kill all of the cells in his mother’s body and ultimately her.
At first, it was assumed that it was just the act of childbirth had killed her, but as Sam, their father, tried to raise the twins on his own, he began to discover their peculiarities. Katie kept phasing through her diapers, and could be very heavy and stiff when she was unhappy. Likewise, Kent’s ill feelings caused things he touched to rapidly decay and he would grow very hot. It was then that their father, a biologist, started to test them secretly in his lab at work. When he discovered what was wrong with them, he feared the destructive side of Kent. Feeling parental obligation, he sent his daughter to live with his late wife’s sister out in Massachusetts to protect her from Kent.
So, that is how Katie came to live with her Aunt Jennifer, her uncle and cousins. However, Katie was not told of her powers. Instead, she was told that it was just too hard for her father to single handedly raise twins. She never understood why it had to be her who was sent away but she grew up to live with it. She rather enjoyed living with her relatives. They treated her like one of their own.
Now, as for Katie’s powers, she brushed it off. She never recognized it as a power but just some sort of figment of her imagination. She didn’t and couldn’t understand it and the thought of asking her family about this situation ... no, that was out of the question. Who on this earth would believe her? One minute she would be dressed and the next, she’d be naked. Or, if it weren’t that, she’d become really heavy and solid. She remembered one time she and her cousin got into a fight. Cole threw a baseball at her head and stormed out, only when the ball hit her head, she didn’t feel a thing. It just bounced off and rolled away.
As for her and her father and brother, Katie would be able to visit every once in awhile, or they’d come visit her. It wasn’t often but Katie understood why their meetings were few. Her father didn’t make enough money. Never the less, she loved her brother and father very much. She enjoyed the little time they spent with each other although; it was always strange to be around her brother. He always seemed to be able to read her mind, which was a little scary. But like her density control, she brushed it off.
Now, after all these years, her brother was going to move in with them. Unfortunately, the reason being that their father passed away. The cause of it is unknown. As sad as this is, Katie can’t help be happy as well. She was finally going to be with her brother.

Role Play Sample:
Katie walked into the living room and let out a rather large and unnaturally loud sigh. And when that didn’t get the attention of her father, who was sitting on the couch in front of her watching television, she sighed even a louder sigh. “No,” came her father’s stern voice. Katie let out a noise that sounded a lot like a slight growl. She stomped her feet and let out another sigh in frustration. “But, daddy,” she whined and came around standing right in front of her father and the television. Her father ignored her and sat still as if he could see the television screen right through her.
Finally, in retreat, after having sat there with her father for about 10 minutes, she stormed out of the living room and slammed her door behind her. It was so unfair. Her life was unfair. She never got anything she wanted. It was only for one weekend. Her friend, who happened to be a guy, asked her and a few other friends to come down to his cabin. But nooo, that weekend had to be the same weekend as her grandmother’s birthday. She let out another growl in frustration. Her grandmother didn’t even like her. Katie’s grandmother thought Katie was too loud and outspoken for a female. Whatever that was suppose to mean. Times have changed and her grandmother was still living in the Stone Age.
Now, on her bed, she rolled over onto her back, holding her stuffed bear in her arms. Looking up at the ceiling she let out another sigh. “Sigh all you want, honey, but it’s still a no,” a calm sweet voice came across her room. Katie lifted her head and rolled her eyes. “Whatever,” she sighed again, just to spite her mother. “I just don’t understand why I have to go. It’s not like she’s going to miss me. I wish she’d just die already.” That was definitely the wrong thing to say. “Katie!” her mother’s voice quickly changed from calm and sweet to stern and very angry. “That is no way to speak of your grandmother!”
“I’m sorry,” she quickly said to appease her mother. She could hear her mother take a breath and walk out. Both of them knew Katie didn’t mean her apology but they’d both have to leave it at that. It looked like Katie was going to lose this fight. She let out another sigh, this time in defeat.
